Product Overview

Profiles

Every user profile is public and is composed of a custom username and profile picture. Users can manage push and email notification settings, change their username and profile picture, find friends that use the platform, and contact support.

Content created by users, such as the photos they've uploaded and drawings they've created, are displayed as feeds. Feeds of users following or followed by the user and content they have liked can also be viewed in a user's profile.

Users are searchable by username. Lists of suggested users (new, rising, and most popular) are updated daily and help users explore more content.

Photos and Drawings

Anyone may post a photo and anyone may draw that photo. A photo and drawing pair represent the primary form of content which composes most feeds.

Photos can be taken in the app or uploaded from their device. Drawings can be created in the app using the provided drawings tools or uploaded from the Procreate app. All photos and drawings are publicly viewable by anyone.

A photo can be drawn, shared, reported, and deleted by the owner. A drawing may be zoomed into at a high resolution, liked, commented on, replayed as a video, shared, reported, purchased as a print, and deleted by the owner.

Content Feeds

A user's profile contains feeds of their photos, their drawings, and the drawings that they have received. A user also has a private Home feed containing photos and drawings of the users that they follow. These feeds display content from newest to oldest.

A user also has an Activity feed containing textual representations of actions that have happened to them, such as when they are drawn, when someone likes or comments on their drawing, or when someone new follows them.

The Recent and Trending feeds are public feeds that are the same for everyone. The Recent feed displays the latest drawings created and the Trending feed displays the most popular recent drawings scored by likes. The Photos feed is an additional public feed that displays recently created photos that have not yet been drawn.

A technical description of content feeds can be found here.

Commissions

A commission is when one user pays another user to draw their photo. Any user may enable commissioning in their account, set their rate, and receive commissions.

Stripe manages payment information and transactions. Users and are charged at the time of purchase and will receive their drawing within 30 days or they will be refunded.

Commissioned users are paid through PayPal upon completion of the drawing. They receive their commission rate minus $5 that French Girls keeps to cover costs.

International purchases and payouts are fully supported.

Any drawing can be ordered as a high quality physical print in a variety of customizable formats, such as posters, canvas prints, and framed canvases, with sizes ranging from 5" x 7" up to 30" x 40".

Payment transactions are handled through Stripe similar to commissions. The creator of the drawing receives 10% of the price of the print through PayPal if possible or notified that they are eligible to receive a payout.
